As a division of Amphenol Corporation since 2009, Times Microwave Systems has access to the resources of one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world. Amphenol (NYSE: APH) designs, manufactures and markets electrical, electronic and fiber-optic connectors, interconnect systems and coaxial and specialty cable. Amphenol employs more than 38,000 people at over 85 facilities in more than 30 different countries.

PRODUCTS AND SUPPORT

TMS leads the way in innovative cabling products for the wireless market and provides advanced interconnects for demanding aerospace and electronic warfare systems. Industrial applications include high voltage and high power cabling, and the scientific community relies on TMS products in particle beam research. Times pioneered the development of low smoke cables for shipboard applications, leads in phase stable cable performance, and is now developing the next generation transmission line.

TMS supports customers directly and through distribution channels, with many standard products available via extensive distributor networks. Technical requirements are addressed by factory- and regionally-based Field Application Engineers. Times is uniquely capable in its ability to develop fully optimum interconnect solutions, drawing on the broadest range of technologies available in the industry.

HISTORY

Times Microwave Systems was founded in 1948 as the Times Wire and Cable Company. TMS pioneered closed cell low loss polyethylene foam dielectrics and low loss taped PTFE dielectric coaxial cables. Those developments established today's high performance coaxial cable industry. Expansion of its RF and microwave connector design and manufacturing expertise then allowed TMS to take full responsibility for end-to-end performance of complete cable assemblies.

TMS was instrumental in the development of military specifications, including MIL-C-17 for coaxial cables and MIL-T-81490 for Transmission Lines. Times is the leading source of MIL-C-17 qualified products, holding more QPL's (Qualified Product Listings) than any other manufacturer, and Times products meet rigorous MIL-T-81490 and MIL-C-87104 requirements.

Times developed the popular LMR® product line to serve the burgeoning wireless market, and responding to the need for higher interconnect density, developed innovative microwave multi-port connectors. More recently, Times has developed products based on SiO2 and TF4 phase-optimized dielectric technologies. Times has a long history of leading the development of next-generation transmission line products, and by constantly improving and expanding the products it offers, remains fully committed to that leadership role.
