MILTECH Cable Assembly Families
MILTECH Cable Assemblies are available in a range of types -
This is our high performance workhorse series of rugged, low insertion loss, broadband (0.5-18GHz), vapor sealed, braided Aramid fiber outer jacket, cable assemblies. Qualified for use in countless applications, meeting demanding military standard and application-specific requireents, including MIL-T-81490 and MIL-C-87104/2 requirements as defined below.
MILTECH LIGHTWEIGHT (MTL) SERIES
Lighter-weight versions of the standard MILTECH Assemblies. They also feature physically smaller - but still rugged and fully qualified - connectors.
MILTECH SPECIAL JACKET SERIES: MTXR, MTLS, MT-PUR, MT130
Special Jackets for MILTECH assemblies include LS low smoke compounds, PUR ultra-flexible polyurethane, thin wall FEP and XR styles. More than just a special jacket, the XR cables are "eXtra Ruggedized"against physical damage - this is a Sealed MilTech cable that incorporates an integrated crush-resisting spring inside the cable.

MilTech Replaceable Connectors

A major benefit of choosing MILTECH Assemblies is the availability of many interchangeable connector front ends. This allows simple field replacement of damaged interfaces using hand tools, often while the cable assembly is still installed. Available to support the Standard, Lightweight and XR Cable Assemblies.
Replaceable connector front ends used in MILTECH assemblies maintain the vapor seal characteristics of the completed assembly, assuring uncompromised performance, even after in-situ maintenance replacing damaged components.
Replaceable Connector Information
Times manufactures these and other replaceable front end families, and supports fielded cable assemblies with many replacement connector front ends. Your Times representative is ready to assist you with any spares needs you may have.
MilTech SELF-LOCKING Connectors

Many applications benefit from choosing Times self-locking connectors -
Threaded coupling connections can be problematic in high-vibration-environment applications. For many years, this has been addressed by using lockwire to secure coupling nuts. Lockwiring is a labor-intensive process requiring special tooling, and is associated with the potential creation of FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
Times self-locking connectors on your assemblies eliminate the need for lockwiring, significantly reduce installation and maintenance times, and prevent lockwire-related FOD.
For help with using Times self-locking connectors on your assemblies, contact your Times Regional Application Engineer for experienced support. Contact your Military/Aerospace Regional Representative.
For a listing of connectors suitable for use, including the self-locking connectors highlighted here, refer to the Replaceable Connector Information Section.
MilTech SUPPORT TOOLs

The MILTECH product line is supported with a series of easy-to-use hand tools and shop aids to allow straightforward connector maintenance in the field (if needed), and to assist with difficult installations.

MilTech Cable Assembly Ordering Information
A Complete Part Number is specified as follows:
MTxyyy/L/C1/C2
Where x = cable type (MT for Standard series, MTL for Lightweight series)
yyy = cable type (265 or 340XR)
L = Length (in Inches or millimetres, see below)
C1 = Connector 1 Designator
C2 = Connector 2 Designator
Example 1 - a 460 inch long Cable Assembly with a Replaceable SMA
male on one end and a Replaceable TNC male on the other end would have the
Part Number MT340/in460/48530/48555
Example 2 - a 430 millimetre long Cable Assembly with a Replaceable SMA
male on one end and a Replaceable TNC male on the other end would have the
Part Number MTL330/mm430/48530/48555
Marking
Cable Assemblies are marked in the center or on each end depending on Cable Assembly Length as follows:
Times Microwave Systems
MFG: xxxxx (TMS manufacturing CAGE Code, as applicable)
MILTECHxxx/xxx/xxxxx/xxxxxx
Length Tolerances
+0.5" / -0” (12.7mm) for Cable Assemblies less than 5 ft (1524mm)
+1" / -0” (25.4mm) for Cable Assemblies between 5 ft (1524mm) and 10 ft (2540mm)
+1% / -0% for Cable Assemblies Greater than 10 ft (2540mm)
+4% / -0% for Cable Assemblies with time delay or phase matching requirements
Testing
Each Cable Assembly is measured for Insertion Loss and VSWR over the Test Frequency Range.
